Who Could Deny These Butterflies? - Chapter One.Forgive me I'm trying to find my calling, I'm calling at night. I don't mean to be a bother, but have you seen this girl? She's been running through my dreams, And it's driving me crazy it seems. I'm gonna ask her to marry me. Remembering Sunday - All Time Low
"How do you feel about getting married in two days?" Alex asked me, tightening his arm around my body.
"I wish it would get here sooner." I rolled closer to him.
"Are you sure?" He asked, playing with my hair.
"Yes. What about you?" I asked.
"I'm ready." He answered truthfully.
Alex and I had known each other since the 8th grade. It started out to be just casual flirting, but as we got older, we realized that we needed to be together. I was warned my several people that Alex wasn't completely committed, and dumps someone right away. That wasn't the case for us. Although, there was one time he kissed another girl, but that was early in our relationship and we looked past it. We took it slow. He had asked me to marry him three times before, because I kept saying no. He persisted. Finally at age twenty-two, I said yes. To be with someone all of high school and all of college, is a very long time. I'm not sure how we did it with him being on tour for long periods at a time.
I admired the ring that adorned my left hand, it shined in the brightly in the small amount of mood light that was coming through the window.
"Heidi Gaskarth." He said to me.
"I love it already." I sighed, happily.
"Don't leave me hanging at the alter." He said, kissing my forehead.
"I promise I won't. I'll be sprinting up the walk way." He laughed.
The funny thing is, is that we never get sick of each other. We're always together. I wouldn't take one minute back, or change anything. Going after Alex was something that I thought would go, and wouldn't last long. It goes to show you that, go for what you want because it just might love you back, but you could live your life wondering about what things could have been, as opposed to how they are now.
I looked into his chocolate brown eyes that seemed to tell me a story every time he looked at me. They still held the same amount of love or sweetness in them since the first time I laid eyes on him.
Flashback.
Just another party, where the outgoing boys and girls play spin the bottle. It just wasn't my thing. Although, he would much rather be playing it, my best friend, Jack Barakat stayed with me to talk.
"You know he likes you." He said.
"Who?" I asked, hopefully.
"Alex! Who else?"
I gasped, "There's no way."
"Why not? He flirts with you and you flirt with him too."
"Do not!"
"Please, Heidi." He said, shaking his head.
"But-"
"Are you blind? He keeps staring over here at us, wanting to make his first move." Jack predicted.
"No."
"You're gonna say 'yes' right? He's my best friend, and you can't break his heart."
"I guess I could." I said.
"Alex is really cute." I admitted, but Jack was warning me to be quiet with his eyes. "What?"
"Hi, Heidi." Alex said.
"Oh, hi Alex." I said, blushing.
Jack walked away, leaving us alone.
"So you think I'm cute, ye'?" "Yeah, I would say so." Surprised at how out going I was being.
"Then, I think there's only one way we can do this." He said.
My eyebrows went together in confusion, but he kissed me. I didn't know what to do, so I just relaxed and enjoyed the feeling.
End Flashback.
"What are you thinking about?" Alex asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"When you forced me to be your girlfriend."
He laughed at the memory, "I was a pretty insane kid."
"I would say so. Butterflies were flying in my stomach when you asked me."
"That's why in the song, Remember Sunday it says, 'Who could deny these butterflies?'"
"Nu uh!"
"Yes!"
"I never knew that."
"The song was about you, an apology for that uh, thing that happened two years ago..."
"No need to bring that up." I said.
"Right."
"But where does the girl go?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not coming back, I've done something so terrible, I'm terrified to speak, but you'd except that from me...And so on."
"Oh, I'm not really sure. Just away from me or who ever."
"Oh." I said.
"Well, it's late. We've got a big day tomorrow." He said, pressing his lips to mine.
I fell asleep quickly after that. I dreamed about the girl who was never coming back because she did something so terrible, she was terrified to speak. First Chapter of the new Fan Fic!
